Role Overview

We are looking for a Datacentre Operations Engineer to take shared ownership of our datacentre operations and support core network activities. The role covers the full hardware lifecycle, vendor management, coordinating remote hands, and capacity planning, while also driving automation and ensuring accurate documentation.
You’ll be part of a global team supporting the day-to-day running of our infrastructure, which spans more than 11 datacentres worldwide. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to work in a fast-paced, varied environment and to grow within a truly global operation.

We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a relevant role; however, we are also open to considering more experienced professionals who can bring additional depth and expertise.
 
 
Key Responsibilities
 
  • Oversee hardware lifecycle: procurement, inventory, deployment, RMA, and decommissioning. 
  • Coordinate remote hands for installations, rack & stack, cabling, and troubleshooting. 
  • Manage capacity planning across power, space, and connectivity. 
  • Keep documentation and asset records up to date through our DCIM tools. 
  • Build and maintain automation tools/scripts to streamline processes. 
  • Support datacentre network operations, including L1/L2 troubleshooting. 
  • Ensure compliance with datacentre standards, security, and resilience best practices
  • Any other relevant ad hoc duties as directed by your manager.
 
Skills and knowledge:

Minimum 2+ years’ experience:

  • Datacentre operations and colocation environments. 
  • Structured cabling, DCIM tools, power distribution, and environmental monitoring. 
  • Fiber cabling and troubleshooting. 
  • Configuration of Server Management (iDrac, iLO, IPMI) and PDU management (Raritan, APC) 
  • Server hardware troubleshooting including hardware RAIDs 
  • Familiarity with enterprise networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, switching, routing, firewalls). 
  • Experience configuring Juniper and Mikrotik switches desired, but not required.  
  • Strong skills in documentation, process discipline, and vendor coordination. 
  • Practical experience with automation/scripting (Python, Ansible, or similar) 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels.
  • Highly proactive and hands-on, with a can-do attitude, strong sense of accountability, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and able to work independently while staying aligned with global direction.
  • Proactive, results-driven mindset, willing to roll up their sleeves and take ownership from start to finish.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and work seamlessly with both local and global teams.
